The Spokeplas is within walking distance of our B&B, a wonderful oasis of peace in the winter. In the summer you can swim there and spend a day lazing on the beach. Peace, space and time for each other, take a break to relax. Nothing is necessary, be surprised. Enjoy and experience Friesland!
Enjoy the surroundings
Noordwolde has several small restaurants and cozy shops. You don't have to use the car, everything is within walking distance.
Noordwolde is located at the 'three provinces point', Friesland, Drente and Overijssel. The village is located on the border of the vast Drents-Friese Wold, near De Weerribben-Wieden and close to Dwingelderveld. There are several beautiful cycling routes to choose from via junctions.
Museums
The National Rotan Museum. In Noordwolde, the Rijksrietvezelschool is located in a monumental building where the history of weaving is told.
Museum de Proefkolonie. Here in Frederiksoord and Wilhelminaoord you can see 200 years of history in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The landscape, monuments and colony farms have been well preserved here.
So much to see and do .....
Visit the Abe Lenstra sport stadium and our skating stadium Thialf in Heerenveen. Visit one of the cities of the Elfstedentocht, such as Sneek and Dokkum. You will find a golf course in Havelte.
Activities in the area.
Anything is possible! You will enjoy walking and cycling. National Parks The Drents-Friese Wold, the Weerribben and Dwingelderveld are easily accessible, here you will find the most beautiful walking and cycling routes.
The river Linde is just 5 km away, with a beautiful cycle path to Wolvega and the option to rent a canoe for an afternoon of relaxing paddling. There is an outdoor swimming pool within walking distance from our B&B. The natural lake Spokeplas is good for swimming and a day at the beach and only a short walk from our B&B. There are several intersting and fun museums in the area.
